My Favorite Ways to Style Tights

“Life is too short to wear boring clothes.”

-Unknown

We’re getting closer and closer to winter, which I’m not thrilled about! But I do love a good pair of tights this time of year. I mean, of course I would prefer to wear dresses and skirts without tights all year long but alas, I live in Colorado.

There’s no reason why you can’t look cute and be warm at the same time. Tights may not be as warm as actual pants, but sometimes you want to wear a dress. So, here are some ways I like to style tights:

Dress + Tights + Heels

Dress – Missguided Tights – Target Heels – hand-me-downs from my boyfriend’s mom (wish I knew where they were from, but here’s another pair I love!)

The dress and tights combo is a classic. Why not add in a pair of chic heels to kick it up a notch? An outfit like this is perfect for a girls night out and trust me…your friends will envy your style!

Top + Skirt + Tights + Flats

Top – Asos Skirt – Urban Outfitters Tights – Target Flats – Forever 21 (no longer available but I linked some similar ones)

Who doesn’t love a cute plaid skirt? If you’re not a heels kinda girl, you can still rock some tights with a simple pair of flats. This is such an easy look and yet it looks super stylish and makes you look really put together.

Romper + Tights + Booties

Romper – Forever 21 (not available anymore, but I linked one that’s scary similar) Tights – Target (bought these last year but I linked a similar pair) Booties – Forever 21 (not available either, but I linked another cute pair)

A romper in winter? That’s crazy, right? Not if you add a cute pair of tights and booties! You can absolutely bring your summer romper into winter…I definitely still wear rompers when it’s cold out.

And for an added bonus, here are a few of my favorite spots to find cute tights:

  • Target – If you’re looking for a good basic pair of tights, Target is your place! I’ve also always had the best luck with tights from Target. They tend to last longer for me…and if you love wearing tights, you know how short their lifespan can be!
  • Modcloth – Ok, so I’ll fully admit that I haven’t yet bought any tights from here yet. But I love looking at their tights! They have so many fun patterns and colors, so check them out if you want to step up your tights game.
  • H&M – Definitely a good spot for inexpensive tights. They do have some fun tights and more basic styles too. Honestly, I feel like you can never go wrong with H&M!

Let’s get ready for tights season in style and go buy yourself a new pair or two!

How I’ve Learned to Style Short(ish) Hair

“Curl it, cut it, dye it. At the end of the day, confidence is the best hairstyle.”

-Unknown

Who’s to say you need long, flowing locks to create a hairstyle?

When I was little, I had long hair and I always donated it to Locks of Love when it got too out of control. Once I started dying my hair in high school, keeping it long didn’t make sense anymore. That’s when I decided to keep my hair at shoulder length. And I’ve never looked back.

You’re probably thinking That’s great and all, but how the hell do you style hair that’s not super long? Girl, you have so many fun options with shorter hair, trust me!

My favorite way to style my hair is leaving it wavy. My hair is pretty wavy naturally, but I like to add the DevaCurl Wave Maker Touchable Texture Whip to define my waves and give my hair a fun beachy look.

Here are some of my other favorite hairstyles to do for shorter hair

  • Half pinned back (with some volume, of course!)

  • Low messy bun (low maintenance and great for no-wash days)

  • Ballerina bun (love this look for the office)

There are SO many other great options for shorter hair, so don’t feel like length will limit you. I love my length because it’s less work and it’s so much healthier now.

If you’ve been dying to try shorter hair, do it. Hair will always grow back, so never fear!
