My Top 10 Beauty Products of 2018

“Glow is the essence of beauty.”

– Estée Lauder

Now I know what you’re thinking: why are you posting today? It’s not Monday! This week I decided to link up with some of my blogger girlfriends and post about my top 10 beauty products for last year. You can find links to their posts at the bottom of my post.

This was definitely a hard post to write since I tried so many fabulous beauty products in 2018. But I’ve finally narrowed it down to my 10 favorites so let’s count down!

10. Ole Henriksen Cold Plunge Pore Mask

I’ve been using this mask at least once a week ever since I got it. It’s really AMAZING! It smells like peppermint, it makes my face really cold (which I really like), it’s relaxing and it’s blue…how awesome does it sound? Plus it’s really great for shrinking my pores. Definitely the perfect mask for a spa night or a girls’ night in!

9. Tatcha Violet-C Radiance Mask

I feel like a goddess when I wear this mask. This was my go-to last year when I need a little extra TLC for my skin. The lavender color is too gorgeous for this world and my skin is always SUPER glowy after wearing this mask for 15 minutes. It is a little pricier than I would go on a face mask but trust me…so worth it!

8. Hum Nutrition Hair Sweet Hair

For years, I’ve been dying to try Hum’s vitamins and see how well they work. After trying Hair Sweet Hair, I’m officially hooked! The vitamins come as gummies (berry flavored…YUM) and they really work. My hair is slowly but surely growing, it’s much stronger/healthier and I’ve stopped shedding. Congrats to me, I’m no longer a dog!

7. Urban Decay Naked Cherry Eyeshadow Palette

I got this palette for Christmas so I didn’t get a ton of time with it in 2018 but I used it every day for the last few days of the year. This palette is truly one of my favorites of all time! As always, Urban Decay came through with pigmented shadows and gorgeous pink shades. And of course, I’m a sucker for the cute packaging!

6. Hot Tools Digital Salon 1″ Flat Iron

I stopped styling my hair for a long time because my straightener was waaaay too old…like, seriously! When I saw this cute pink straightener on sale for Black Friday, I knew I had to get it. I mean, you really can’t beat $30! This straightener is a godsend because it heats up quickly and straightens my hair super fast plus it curls my hair really well.

5. GlamGlow GALACTICLEANSE Hydrating Jelly Balm Cleanser

I cannot live without this cleanser! This was such a great everyday beauty product for me in 2018. It smells like an orange creamsicle and it removes any extra makeup/dirt left over after I remove my makeup. And as always, GlamGlow nailed it with the fab packaging. Definitely a must have!

4. Anastasia Beverly Hills Sugar Glow Kit

Not everyone loves highlighter but I certainly do! I love ABH’s highlighter palettes so much and the Sugar Glow Kit has to be one of my favorite beauty products from last year. The glow payoff is out of this world and the shades are so gorgeous. If you also have pink undertones, this glow kit is perfect for you.

3. Stila Glitter & Glow Liquid Eyeshadow

For the first time ever, I tried Stila in 2018. I know…I must be insane, right? I finally tried their famous glittery liquid eyeshadows and I am obsessed. They’re really easy to use and they look so fab on their own or with your favorite eyeshadows. Seriously guys…these babies are amazing if you want a glam makeup look!

2. Laneige Water Sleeping Mask

One of my absolute favorite beauty products from 2018 has to be this sleeping mask. I’ve tried so many night creams and I’ve finally found THE one! It’s insanely moisturizing and a little goes a really long way. If you have dry skin like me, this sleeping mask will quickly become a holy grail for you too.

1. Skin Gym Rose Quartz Crystal Facial Roller

I remember reading about facial rollers and rolling my eyes (yes I think I’m pretty funny for that pun). I thought these were really lame and wouldn’t do anything for my skin. Boy, was I wrong! This facial roller is my favorite product from last year because it relaxes my skin and it helps my skin absorb moisturizers and serums super fast. Plus it’s pink so naturally I love it!

Nailing Winged Liner…The First Time!

“When in doubt, wing it out.”

So many people ask me how I get my winged liner right every time. I’ll be honest…some days my liner looks like a HOT frickin’ mess. It’s not always easy to get that wing perfect the first time.

Because I see a lot of Instagram comments asking me about my winged liner, I thought I would give a mini tutorial for you all.

1. Start by drawing the wing in the outer corner of your eye. If you’re not sure what angle to start with, I recommend using Scotch tape to help you draw a straight line and get the angle you want.

2. Fill that wing in, girl!

3. Drag your liner along the upper lashline, making a very thin line (or thick, depending on how dramatic you want to go). Make sure the wing and the line on the lashline are connected. The last thing you want is disconnected lines. No ma’am!

4. Top everything off with some mascara to make those eyes POP

Easy peasy right? For me, yes because I’ve practiced a lot over the years. But it is is hard to master at first. The number one tip I will give you about winged liner is PRACTICE. Period. It’s not something that will be perfect overnight. When you have free time, sit down in front of the mirror and practice that wing. If you mess up, that’s what makeup remover is for!

Also winged liner will look different on everyone depending on your eye shape. Good Housekeeping has some great tips on different techniques based on eye shape so check that out!

You also have to consider what type of eyeliner you want to use. Personally, I prefer liquid eyeliner to crayons or pencils. But hey, you do you boo boo! Here are a few of my favorite liquid eyeliners:

Kat Von D Tattoo Liner

Clinique Pretty Easy Liquid Eyelining Pen

Tarte Sex Kitten Liquid Liner

If you’re ever unsure of how to create a winged liner look, don’t hesitate to reach out to me! I’m always happy to help.

Now go practice and nail that winged liner!
