My New Year’s Resolutions for 2019

“Tomorrow, is the first blank page of a 365 page book. Write a good one.”

-Brad Paisley

Okay so who has made resolutions before but completely forgot about them by February? Yup…been there, done that!

It’s definitely a challenge keeping those pesky resolutions when we get busy. But trust me, once you put your mind to it, you’ll accomplish everything you’re hoping for.

Yes I know it all sounds so cheesy and cliche but I’ve always thought they were actually a pretty great idea…that is, when I stick to them.

Now what are my 2019 resolutions?

Eat healthier and work out more

Yes I’m skinny and I may look fit. But trust me…I am far from it! For years, I haven’t really been watching what I eat and other than the occasional long walk, I don’t exercise much. Really bad, I know! So my top resolution for 2019 is to focus more on my physical health. I may not feel motivated to go to the gym all the time but I’d like to at least go once a week. And add some more veggies to my diet…even when I don’t want to eat them!

Move to a new city

So my boyfriend Adrian is going into the Air Force (EEK!) and he will be in tech school out in Texas for 2 years. My resolution? Get out of Colorado for a couple years and move to Austin so I can be closer to him! I know everyone and their mother wants to move there, but I do think Austin was a cool town. I’m really hoping for a new experience and to try out a new city that isn’t in Colorado (FYI I’m a Colorado native).

Grow my blog

This one is kind of obvious considering I am a blogger, but hey…I think it’s still important to include in my resolutions list! I’m hoping to get in with more influencer and affiliate programs, build my blog and social media audiences and just be an all-around blogging badass! It’ll be hard to balance with a full-time job but I’m determined to make 2019 the year my blog explodes!

Travel to at least one new place

I of course have some favorite vacation spots (Arizona being one of them). But one of my resolutions for 2019 is to find a new place to travel to. I’ve got a few places on my list I’m thinking of for next year (San Francisco, Portland, Los Angeles, New York City, to name a few). Now I just gotta save up my money instead of spending it all on shoes and makeup…oops!

Finish reading my unfinished books

I’m not much a reader but I did start two books in 2018 that I haven’t made the time to finish. One that I really want to finish is Crazy Rich Asians. I loved the movie and the book so far is really good. Now just to set my mind to reading a little bit every day. For me, that’ll be hard just because I’m such a Netflix addict but I also want reading to be on my list of resolutions for next year.

Ok you’re probably asking: how the hell am I supposed to keep track of my resolutions? Lucky for you, I found a few cool apps that will help (DISCLAIMER: I’m not an affiliate with any of these apps. They just sounded cool to me): – lets you set any goals you want and you can even share your progress if you so choose

MyFitnessPal – hoping to be more active next year? Keep your fitness goals in check and get in shape with this app

Wunderlist – this is another great app to set your goals in a list format! Great for those organizers out there (like me!)

Mint – if your resolution is to be more financially saavy, this app will help you keep track of your budget (trust me, I’ve used this one and it is pretty great!)

Now I don’t know about you, but my New Year’s Eve plans consist of eating lots of food, drinking and spending time with family. Let me know what your resolutions are for next year down below in the comments OR chat me up and send me an email.

I hope everyone has a fun and safe night tonight! And if you can help it, don’t get too carried away with the champagne.

  1. These are great resolutions! I know you can definitely achieve the fitness one. It seems hard to get started but once you start working out regularly, you don’t wanna stop!

  2. Traveling to at least one place is apart of my 2019 goals as well! It can be hard sticking to your resolutions but if you have a way to organize them and keep steady at making them happen you can definitely get them done. Happy 2019 darling!! Greatest of luck to You!

  3. Happy New Year and good luck with keeping your resolutions! I love them too, they’re a great little motivator to help you kick start things you may have been putting off aren’t they!
Now going to check out some of those apps! Especially the money one as that’s one of my biggest goals this year, stop spending so much and save! 🙈

  4. Resolutions are a really good idea. I think it’s nice to have realistic goals to work with. Getting fitter & generally being healthier is definitely on my list too. MyFitnessPal is a fantastic app for that! If you wanted to set a goal for reading books this year there is always Goodreads 🙂 Even if it’s only a couple of books it is nice to watch the progress. It really encouraged me to read more and now I’m a book blogger! Good luck with all of your resolutions & happy new year!

  5. That sounds so exciting that you’re potentiallt moving sometime this year!! Sounds like you’ve got a great year coming up xx

  6. I love It’s so simple and effective. So many apps get so caught up in features when all I wanna do is tick off a check mark to say yes I did!

  7. So many good resolutions!! I need to lose the extra 10 lbs and get healthy is my top one- then blogging and monetizing on it is number 2- on top of decluttering and getting closer to debit free

  8. Great resolutions. Good luck with your big move too.
I’m thinking of using the Zombie run couch to 5k app as I am so unfit and overweight.
Good luck with your goals xx

  9. Those are some great and attainable goals for this year! I have some of the same goals, hopefully this time next year we can say we accomplished them!

  10. There are some great resolutions on this list! I especially like the moving to a new city one – its so important to do that whilst you dont have the trappings of a home loan etc.
I couldn’t help but notice that all of your travel goals are within America – why not push yourself outside of your comfort zone a little and visit somewhere overseas? I’m from the UK and I’d recommend it as a place to visit – plus we all speak English so it isn’t too overwhelming if you’re not used to foreign travel. Just an idea.

Good luck for keeping to your goals. I’ll keep coming back to your blog for updates 🙂

    1. I do lobe that idea! I dont have a ton of money unfortunately so that’s why I’m sticking to the US for now. Hopefully I can save up enough to go outside the country soon

  11. Awesome New Years Resolutions! They sound exactly like mine. Good luck on the move. New places are one of the things I enjoy most in life!

  12. Great goals! I wish you the best as you work towards them this year! YOU GOT THIS! If you ever want to chat more about goals along the way, I looooove talking about it! Feel free to email me or reach out on Twitter.

I have some pretty big goals I’m working toward this year! I’m excited!

I’ve used MyFitnessPal before; that’s a great app! I need to start using it again; it was super helpful when I was trying to track to make sure I was getting enough protein each day.

  13. Sounds good . I relate to the healthy eating part lol. I hope you’re keeping your resolutions so far .
