Who’s to say you need long, flowing locks to create a hairstyle?

When I was little, I had long hair and I always donated it to Locks of Love when it got too out of control. Once I started dying my hair in high school, keeping it long didn’t make sense anymore. That’s when I decided to keep my hair at shoulder length. And I’ve never looked back.

You’re probably thinking That’s great and all, but how the hell do you style hair that’s not super long? Girl, you have so many fun options with shorter hair, trust me!

My favorite way to style my hair is leaving it wavy. My hair is pretty wavy naturally, but I like to add the DevaCurl Wave Maker Touchable Texture Whip to define my waves and give my hair a fun beachy look.

Here are some of my other favorite hairstyles to do for shorter hair

  • Half pinned back (with some volume, of course!)

  • Low messy bun (low maintenance and great for no-wash days)

  • Ballerina bun (love this look for the office)

There are SO many other great options for shorter hair, so don’t feel like length will limit you. I love my length because it’s less work and it’s so much healthier now.

If you’ve been dying to try shorter hair, do it. Hair will always grow back, so never fear!

  1. Something I’ve always struggled with most of my life is styling my hair, and I still don’t know what to do apart from getting a haircut a couple of times a year. These are some lovely styles even I can do, thank you.
